Yesterday (Tuesday) we awoke
to a beautiful and frigid western morning. The fields and
mesas were covered with a blanket of snow. We all
enjoyed a WV breakfast, but my mind went to those elderly
and young that live here year round that may not have the
comforts that we enjoyed this morning - heat, warm
clothes, and food.
We awaited the sun to come up
which was around 10 am, in which we made our way to the
warehouse which as we entered seemed like a great big deep
freeze. As Harold turned up the thermostat the building
began to get colder. Finally after our noses, toes,
and other parts began to freeze up I said to Harold: " I
know the fan is blowing on the furnace but is there any
HEAT?" My conclusion was right - only cold air. After
a time of trying it our way, we decided to call the
serviceman, only to find out that he could not come
until the later part of the week. On some convincing on
Harold's part, he came yesterday evening.. So Lord willing
we will have warm warehouse to work in today.
Well, heat is great! But
I looked at the water tank which holds the water we shower
with and, Yep!, just as I thought - we are out of
water, so no shower tonight!! No way! Already been two
days! So I made a few phones calls and finally reached the
gentleman I was trying to find. He said, "No problem - the
water is on the way!"
The sun has set by now and we
made our way to the house. Man, don't anybody ever tell me
that leftovers are no good! Several friends came by
and spent the evening with us. We enjoyed fellowship, food
and fun... But, you are right - no shower... Too
Tired and too full.
